Yesterday, on October the 28th, Mari Jose Olaziregi, principal researcher of MHLI research group and professor at the UPV/EHU, participated as a speaker at the symposium Censura I Exili: Les reescriptures de la Dictadura Franquista [Censorship and Exile: Rewritings of the Franco Dictatorship].

The research project “Las relacions hipertextuals en la literatura catalana (1939-1983)” [Hypertextual relations in Catalan literature (1939-1983)] (CIAICO/2021/143). has been the main organizer of the symposium, in collaboration with the Interuniversity Institute of Valencian Philology, the Department of Catalan Philology and the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication. The event began yesterday, on October the 28th, at the University of Valencia itself and the experts will reflect on censorship and exile until today, October the 29th.

Among the interventions of yesterday was the presentation by Mari Jose Olaziregi, principal researcher at the MHLI: “La censura postfranquista de la literatura en euskera. Resultados del análisis de los informes de lectura del periodo 1975-1983” [Post-Francoist censorship of literature in Basque. Results of the analysis of the reading reports of the period 1975-1983]. In it, Olaziregi spoke about the monograph published by the same research group Euskal liburuaren franquismo osteko zentsura (1975-1983) [Post-Francoist censorship of Basque books (1975-1983)], specifically about the post-Francoist censorship files collected in that publication, the analysis of them, and the main results, among other things. Together with Olaziregi, experts such as Ramón X. Rosselló (University of Valencia), Lluís Agustí (University of Barcelona), Lluís Quintana (Autonomous University of Barcelona) and Jesús Peris Llorca (University of Valencia) participated as speakers in the event.
