The MHLI research group (UPV/EHU) has organised the theoretical-methodological seminar ‘Trends in the research of intermediality’.
The speaker will be Jørgen Bruhn (Linnaeus University, Sweden). It will be held in Donostia-San Sebastián on 28 April 2025. It can be followed both in person and online (click on this link to continue the session online).
Jørgen Bruhn will give an overview of the model developed by Linnaeus University (Sweden) for the development of intermediation. He will also present some examples of his latest research and provide insights into the understanding of numerous cultural artefacts. Finally, he will talk about the usefulness of his theory for the debate on ‘Guernica’, a cultural and political icon.
On the speaker’s recommendation, participants can have a look at the following work: Bruhn and Schirrmacher (eds), Intermedial Studies. An Introduction to Meaning Across Media is also available online at this link.
