On this 50th anniversary of the massacre in Vitoria-Gasteiz on 3 March 1976, an article in the newspaper Berria (see Sormenari esker ahaztu ez dena) has highlighted the importance of the role played by artistic expressions in the ongoing construction of collective memory, recalling the conclusions of a study published in 2018 by Amaia Elizalde, a member of the MHLI. In the book Las otras protagonistas de la transición. Izquierda radical y movilizaciones sociales, there is a chapter written by Elizalde entitled “Un proceso de (re)construcción cultural interartística de la memoria desde el umbral de la transición hasta nuestros días: la matanza del 3 de marzo” (2018, pp. 307-318, Brumaria publishing house).
